Cyndi Duncan-Lumsden (BA, B.ed) is the co-writer and principle lyricist for The Bee's Knees project. With over 20 years as a primary school teacher in downtown Toronto, Cyndi captures many of the interests, moods and experiences of the children she teaches in the lyrical content of her songs. She values the importance of music and movement in the classroom. “Musical connections across the curriculum are essential to me as a teacher. Kids like songs with great rhythms, catchy melodies and fun lyrics and they need on-going opportunities to sing and move to music using imagination and creativity in their own way.” Cyndi's musical experiences include background singing and collaborations with Andie on various musical projects. Married to a fellow teacher and raising three teenagers of their own, Cyndi’s successes at home, in the classroom, and on stage begin and end with a sense of humour. |
